Liverpool have turned down a bid from Southampton to sign Fabio Carvalho for a fee of up to £15 million. The offer was made after Southampton expressed interest in Carvalho, who had joined Hull City on loan in January. Liverpool is not willing to let Carvalho leave on another temporary deal and would only consider selling if the price is significantly higher than the offer from Southampton. Carvalho has impressed Liverpool’s head coach during pre-season and is expected to be utilized in the future unless suitable offers come in. Carvalho has been successful at Championship level, scoring 29 goals and assists in 56 appearances for Hull and Fulham. His priority is game time and he is open to transferring to a smaller team if it means being a key player. Discussions about his future will take place once Liverpool returns to the UK. Other clubs are also expected to pursue Carvalho before the transfer deadline.
